HOW TO CARE FOR CASHMERE GARMENTS

30 May 2025

The closet of every fashion lover cannot lack cashmere - an elegant, sophisticated and quite expensive material. MBocharova brand is pleased to provide all women with the opportunity to purchase cashmere clothing for every taste.

Cashmere is considered a type of premium fabric for many reasons: it is expensive to produce, difficult to care for, but extremely soft, natural and warm. Cashmere products are difficult to confuse with anything else because of their special texture and muted colors. Coats and sweaters are made from cashmere, scarves, hats and other accessories also look great.

The material is named after the province of Kashmir in the Himalayas, where the method of its production was invented in ancient times. Kashmir is made from the down of mountain goats, which grows before the cold season arrives. In the spring, the animal no longer needs this fur, so it is combed out, sorted by density and woven. The average fiber radius of down is 16 microns, while human hair is 50 microns. It takes as many as 15 mountain goats to produce, say, 1 coat.

Cashmere combines several seemingly contradictory qualities at the same time, which makes this material particularly valuable: incredible softness, but also durability, and a small thickness of fabric, but the ability to retain heat. At the same time, natural cashmere, though woven from wool, will never irritate the skin, and the subtle strands will never sting or cause itching.

Although cashmere had been known in the East since the 12th century, it came to Europe only after Napoleon conquered India. However, it was Italian artisans who achieved the greatest skill in processing cashmere and producing a variety of garments. Entire cashmere brands have been created here, earning billions from sweaters and scarves alone.

Caring for cashmere products:

  • The general advice for cashmere clothes is not to “ overwork” them. To keep the clothes looking like new, give them a “rest” after a day's wear, hang them on hangers and don't wear them continuously;

  • Cashmere products should be washed inside out after every fourth wear;

  • For both hand and machine washing, the water temperature should not exceed 30°C. Wash in the washing machine in “Delicate” mode;

  • Use liquid laundry detergents without bleach or other aggressive chemicals;

  • After washing, the product should be squeezed very lightly and laid horizontally, preferably on a cotton towel that absorbs moisture well;

  • Cashmere garments should be dried horizontally, out of direct sunlight, in well-ventilated areas;

  • Straighten cashmere garments with steam from an iron held 1-2 cm from the surface of the fabric. Do not put the iron directly on the product, or even on another material that covers it;

  • Cashmere garments should be stored upright on hangers or neatly folded over other garments on shelves.

It is not allowed:

  • Squeeze, pull or crush cashmere garments when washing, wearing or storing;

  • Rub cashmere fabrics against each other or other surfaces;

  • Dry cashmere products with home heating equipment under unnatural conditions.

Take care of your MBocharova brand clothes according to simple rules, and your favorite things will maintain an attractive appearance, comfort and convenience for a long time!
